The
Maasai Mara Game Reserve is Kenya’s, if not the world’s
most famous game reserve. It is the northernmost extension
of the vast Serengeti Plains. The Mara covers an area of
645 square miles. During the annual migrations, the Mara
is home to almost 2.5 million herbivores together with smaller
species – 1.4 million wildebeest, 550,000 gazelle,
200,000 zebra, 62,000 buffalo, 64,000 impala, 60,000 topi,
7,500 hartebeest, 7,100 giraffe, 3,000 eland and 4,000 elephant.
There are also plenty of hippo, rhino and warthog. In addition
there are the predators – lion, leopard, cheetah,

Nairobi,
the capital of Kenya, has grown since 1899 from a simple

Maasai language (meaning a place of cold water in reference
to the cold waters of the Nairobi River) to the modern center
for commercial, financial, manufacturing and tourist activity
in East Africa. It replaced Mombasa as Kenya’s capital
in 1907 and became a city in 1950. today, its population
is well over 1.5 million. Both the Great North Road (Cairo

After breakfast and a special safari briefing, depart Nairobi
in a private minibus (Toyota or Nissan) fitted with telescoping

Drive north through the beautiful rolling hills and coffee
plantations to the dramatic Aberdare Mountains and the Ark,
the famous tree hotel. Throughout the night elephant, rhino,
buffalo and other game come to the water hole. They are
so close you can actually hear them breathe. Floodlights
permit night game viewing. Please note: One overnight bag
per person is allowed at The Ark. The balance of your luggage
will be stored at the Aberdare Country Club and collected
the next morning before departing for Sweetwaters.

Depart The Ark after breakfast for Sweetwaters Tented Camp
with its 80,000-acre private game park. After lunch take
a game drive where you actually have a chance to pet and
be photographed with a tame Rhino, Morani, currently under
the protection of the Kenya Wildlife Services. You also
have the wonderful opportunity to visit the Jane Goodall
Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

4
After breakfast drive north into the semi-desert bush country
of the northern frontier district, arriving at your lodge
in time for lunch. Here you meet the nomads of the desert
– the Samburu tribe. Late this afternoon is your first
game drive in the reserve to view the wildlife unique to
this area of Kenya.

5
Today rise with the sun to experience an early morning game
drive. You see the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra,
elephant, warthog, gerenuk, and, if you are lucky, the elusive
leopard. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and relaxation.
After lunch there is time to rest during the midday heat
before the late afternoon game drive, which takes advantage
of the animals’ increased activity level later in
the day.

Depart Samburu and drive to the equator for a
short ceremony, then continue to the base of Mt. Kenya and
the incomparable Mt. Kenya Safari Club, made famous by the
conservation efforts of William Holden and Stephanie Powers.

manicured grounds and gardens, lounge around the pool, go
horseback riding, play tennis or visit the excellent endangered
animal orphanage established by Stephanie Powers. This truly

Today you drive westward to Lake Nakuru National Park which
extends over 90 Square Miles. Lake Nakuru is often described
by ornithologists as the “Greatest Bird Spectacle”
in the world. It has a population of Lesser and Greater
Flamingos numbering over 1 million. Other wildlife to be
found in the park include Black and White Rhino, Waterbucks,
Impalas, Dik-Diks, Grants Gazelle, Lions and Leopards. After
lunch at the SAROVA LION HILL LODGE, a short rest and then

Day 4
After breakfast, head further North towards Lake Baringo,
which is at the threshold of Northern Kenya. It’s
freshwaters are an oasis in the arid plains and The 129
sq km lake is well stocked with fish, and attracts many
Pelicans, Cormorants and Fish Eagles. The Lake is also well
populated with Crocodile. En-route stop-over for lunch at
LAKE BOGORIA HOTEL in Lake Bogoria National Reserve. The
32 sq km Lake Bogoria is still volcanically active, and
it’s Western shore is lined with spouting geysers,
spurting steam and bubbling geothermal pools. Fresh water
springs at the lake edge attract an abundance of birds and
wildlife. Gazelle, Zebra, Baboon and Greater Kudu are seen

TBT009:- Nairobi City Tour
This 3-hour sightseeing tour of Nairobi, the capital city
of Kenya, includes a visit to the National Museum, the Snake
Park and the City Market. Your driver will take you through
Nairobi’s busy streets to see Kenyatta Conference
Center and the Parliament Buildings. The tour starts at
9.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. daily, for a minimum of 2 pax. An
optional add-on for this tour is lunch at the Hong Kong
Restaurant or Tokyo Restaurant. With its population of 3
Million inhabitants, Nairobi is the largest city between
Johannesburg and Cairo and is today, one of the most important
commercial centers in Africa.
TBT010:- Nairobi national park
This 4-hour tour tour takes you to the Nairobi National
Park where it is possible to find a variety of wildlife
which covers an area of 44 square miles, and is followed
by a visit to the Animal Orphanage where sick and stray
orphaned animals are taken care of before being returned
to the wild. Nairobi National Park is unique by being the
only protected area in the world with a variety of animals
and birds close to a major city. The park has a diverse
birdlife with over 400 species recorded and four of the
"Big Five" can also be seen here. However some
species are seasonal. It is one of the successful rhino
sanctuaries and is the natural habitat of the black rhino.
An optional add-on for this tour is lunch at the nearby
Rangers Restaurant or Carnivore Restaurant.

Karen Blixen Museum
This
museum was originally the home of Karen Blixen, who came
to Kenya from Denmark in the early part of this century;
the present museum site is at the heart of the larger coffee
plantation run by Blixen between 1914 and 1931. The house
and surrounding land was donated by the Danish government
to Kenya at independence; the house was restored by the
Danish government and was used during the filming of Out
of Africa, which immortalised Karen Blixen's book by the
same name. The Museum was opened to the public in 1986.Much
of the original furniture is on display in the house, and
combined with the beautifully landscaped gardens and encompassing
view of the Ngong Hills, the Museum has continued to be
very popular destination for international and local visitors.
Giraffe
Manor
The
Giraffe Manor, built in 1932 by Sir David Duncan, is situated
on 120 acres of land just a few miles from the centre of
Nairobi. Since 1974, the Giraffe Center has been the home
pf the endangered Rothschild Giraffe whose numbers have
increased from the original 5.Guests can feed and photograph
the giraffe and the Warthogs at the Center, and also wander
through the adjoining primeval forest to view the bushbuck,
Dik Dik, and more than 180 species of birds.
Daphne
Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
Daphne Sheldrick (As part of the David Sheldrick Conservation
Foundation) rehabilitates orphaned baby elephants and other
wildlife here at her home just outside of Nairobi National
Park. These babies have lost their mothers to poaching,
death, injuries, on getting lost in the wild or other tragedies.
Daphne and her dedicated staff raise them to be released
back into the wild when they are ready. Tour departs at
09:00 a.m. on Mondays to Saturdays. An optional add-on for
this tour is lunch at the nearby Rangers Restaurant or Carnivore
Restaurant.

Lake Nakuru National Park Express is a full day trip to
the Rift Valley lake, 160kms from Nairobi. Lunch is taken
at one of the Lodges in the Park before an afternoon game
drive. Lake Nakuru is one of the alkaline Rift Valley lakes
and a fantastic bird sanctuary, its shores populated at
times by more than one million flamingoes. The park covers
the lake and a land strip around the northern, eastern and
western shores, whereas southward the grounds extend farther
to Makalia Falls, which define the south limit. The eastern
and western shores are framed by ridges that offer splendid
lookouts over the lake: Lion Hill, Baboon Cliff and Out
of Africa. At the west shore, Baboon Cliffs are the preferred
habitat for some of the park's species. In addition to birds
and rhinos, the park is home for a large number of mammals,
including carnivores such as lions and leopards.

Day 1
08:30 a.m. head south towards the Amboseli National Park.
Arrive in time for lunch at the AMBOSELI SERENA LODGE. An
afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2
game drive before breakfast. After breakfast leave for Nairobi
to arrive by early afternoon. * There is an option to extend
the second day, to allow for an additional game drive. Leave
the lodge with a packed lunch, and go on an extended game
drive. Depart the Park by 15:00 HRS to arrive Nairobi by
evening.
TBT014:- Maasai village tour
The Maasai tribe lives in Kenya. They are predominantly
a warrior tribe whose lives revolve around herding cattle.
One of their beliefs is that God entrusted His cattle to
them. Thus, they measure their wealth by the number of cattle
they aquire. They live in small settlements of 8-15 huts
per kraal. The huts are made of branches, twigs, grass,
and cow dung and urine formed into a plaster and applied
to a branch frame. The mixture is as strong as cement after
it dried in the sun and does not smell. On a typical visit
to a Maasai village, you will be welcomed with song by the
young “”morans”. They demonstrate various
unique aspects of their lifestyle including how to make
a fire using sticks, how to get blood from their animals
(the blood forms an important part of their diet), a tour
of their huts (manyatta’s) and give a lecture on their
culture and lifestyle. This is a tour well worth opting
for to learn more about Kenya’s indigenous peoples
and is an add-on option available on tour in Amboseli or
Maasai Mara. The cost is approximately US$ 20 to 25 per
person.
TBT015:- Tree hotel 1 night tour
There are three tree hotels in the Nyeri vicinity 160 kms
north of Nairobi. Treetops Lodge and The Ark are in the
Aberdares while Mountain Lodge is on the slopes of Mt. Kenya.
Day 1
Nairobi at 08:00 a.m. driving past the industrial town of
Thika and the rich farmlands of the Kikuyu people to arrive
in time for lunch at the ABERDARE COUNTRY CLUB before proceeding
on to THE ARK LODGE for evening tea, dinner and overnight
game viewing at the floodlit waterhole. Numerous species
of game can be seen from the terrace including elephant,
buffalo, etc. An alternative tree hotel in this vicinity
is TREETOPS LODGE. For those opting to overnight at TREETOPS,
lunch will be at THE OUTSPAN HOTEL.
Day 2
After breakfast. A leisurely drive will bring you to Nairobi
by early afternoon. Lunch at the CARNIVORE RESTAURANT, after
which you will be dropped off to your accommodations.
