01- MON – Fly from Kathmandu to PARO on Druk-
Air. You will be met at the airport and transfer provided
to Thimpu (65 kms. / 2 hrs approx) O/nt Hotel

2 - TUE - Thimpu: Full day local sightseeing tour. AM:
Visit Zeleukha Nunnery, National Library and Memorial
Chorten of His Majesty Late Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk.
PM: Stroll down to the Handicraft Development Corporation,
which displays all kinds of traditional handicraft products
of Bhutan.

3 – WED - Thimpu- Paro (65kms/2 hrs) AM: After
breakfast drive leisurely to Paro.
PM: Drive through the Paro valley to see the Drukgyel
Dzong/ Kyichu Lhakhang. On a clear day one can see the
Majestic Jhomolhari Mountain or better known as the
Mountain of Goddess (7314mts). Also visit the National
museum located in the Ta Dzong, which displays a rich
collection of fine arts and weapons. O/nt Hotel

4 – THU - Drive to airport for your flight back
to Kathmandu.

04- SUN/THU - Paro: Excursion to Taktsang Lhakang. AM:
After breakfast drive to Sartsham Chorten and then two
hours of Horse riding uphill will take you to the Taktsang
Lhakhang also known as The tigers nest. PM: After lunch
a slow downhill trek to Sartsham Chorten and then drive
to hotel. O/nt. Hotel.

05- MON/FRI - Drive to airport for your flight back
to Kathmandu or exit by overland to India/Nepal.

of the old capital of Bhutan. The magnificent Dzong
is sprawled between the Phochu and Mochu rivers. O/nt.

04- THU/SUN -Punakha- Bhumanthang (210 kms/ 8 hrs approx.)
AM: Early morning drive to the valley of Bhumanthang
through the Yotola Pass (3440 mts). This valley is considered
a very sacred place for The Bhutanese with many temples
and holy places. O/nt at Bhumanthang Tourist Lodge.

05- FRI/MON -Bhumanthang: Full day sightseeing. AM:
Drive to Mebartsho (burning lake). This gorge is the
holy site and Pilgrimage place where Guru Rimpoche had
hidden religious treasures Later discovered by Terton
Pema Lingpa. Visit the swiss Farm where you can buy
excellent local made cheese. PM: Visit the Jakar Dzong
(castle of the white bird). Built in 1549 this Dzong
houses the administrative center of Bhumanthang. Visit
Kurjey Lhakang, the most sacred and popular monastery
in Bhumanthang. O/nt. Bhumanthang Tourist Lodge.

06- SAT/TUE -Bhumanthang- Thimpu (267 kms./ 8 hrs. approx.)
AM: Early morning drive to Thimpu via Tongsa and Wangdiphodrang.

07- SUN/WED -Thimpu- Paro (65kms. /2 hrs) AM: Visit
Drukgyel Dzong/ Kyichu Lhakang & The National Museum.

Trek (10 nts/11 days)
This
trek introduces you to the rich history of the Paro,
Punakha and the Thimpu valley, with the serenic view
of Mt. Chomolhari (7311mts). One of the most magnificent
mountains in the Eastern Himalayas – truly a rewarding
sight for the determined trekkers.

General Information
Getting
There:
Druk
Air flies every Monday & Thursday between Katmandu
& Paro. Cost for one-way trip is US $ 190 + 5 per
person & US $ 390 for round trip. The national airline
of Bhutan/ Druk Air operates with connection from Calcutta,
Delhi, Dhaka and Bangkok.
It
is possible to enter/ exit Bhutan by overland transportation,
stopping enroute at Sikkim & Darjeeling (India).

schedules & price are subject to change without
prior notice)
Diplomats
(holding passport) accredited to Bhutan shall be given
a 25% discount in tour if they come in-group of 2 pax
and above.
Booking
Conditions
It would help to book at least 90 days in advance, as
the infrastructure in Bhutan can handle only a limited
number of tourists. The months of April, May, October
and November normally have many festival being celebrated
at that time, and tourism is at its height during this
period.
However,
at least two week prior to your tour, a booking with
full passport details and payment of tour should reach
us.
There will be a cancellation charge of 50 % for confirmed
booking upto 7 days prior to departure whereas, no refund
of the clients whatsoever reason.
ACCOMMODATION
Best hotels in PARO & THIMPU and
in other places Guest House/Lodges in modest heated
room with attached bath.
TRAVEL
TIPS
OCTOBER to MARCH – Warm clothings
APRIL TO SEPTEMBER – Light cotton clothings.
However a warm Sweater and a jacket are always advised.
CLIMATE
Best Seasons : March, April, September, October and
November.
PHOTOGRAPHY
16 mm film camera are prohibited in Bhutan. Also Photography
in some of the Monasteries & Djongs are not allowed.

the rules and regulation of Bhutan Tourism Authority.
Therefore, Himalayan World Adventure (P) Ltd. or its
Bhutanese counterpart shall not be responsible for any
change and alterations in the itinerary due to unavoidable
circumstances such as landslides, road blockage, flood,
snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay
arrival, sickness or accidents. Any extra cost incurring
there of shall be borne by the clients on the spot.
It is most advisable all clients to have full insurance
against medical and personal accidents. A cancellation
insurance is also highly recommended.
